Battlestar Galactica (Original) & House

Just in case anyone's interested, the Sci Fi channel is having a mini marathon of Battlestar Galactica (the original series) episodes tomorrow from 8 AM - 4 PM (US Eastern Standard time). I'll admit, I haven't been able to watch the new one. I liked the old one too much and just can't see Starbuck as anyone but Dirk Benedict. *shrug* I've heard good things about the new one, but the blonde cylon with the glowing red spine when she orgasms? Ummm... I have no words.

Oh, but I highly recommend House M.D. It's my favorite new show. (Although, Veronica Mars comes a close second. If Chloe from Smallville was given her own show with better writers, you'd get Veronica Mars.) Hugh Laurie is perfect as Dr. Gregory House--a grumpy, bitter, brilliant, and secretly caring doctor who has a gift for diagnosing complicated and rare medical conditions. Robert Sean Leonard stars as Dr. Wilson, one of the few people who actually admits to being House's friend.

I was just watching BSG the original series this evening - and enjoying it all over again.
Yeah, I agree, don't understand why they had to make Starbuck female. Just seems wrong on sooooo many levels. Don't mind the actress in the new series, but really wished she was playing a different character and not Starbuck. Starbuck needs to be male. The Appolo and Adama in the new series are real good.

I'm watching now. Ah, Apollo, Starbuck, and Boomer--they're like the Three Musketeers! I might try the new one some time, but it just looks so dark, whereas the original had many lighter moments (most of which were courtesy of Starbuck). Oh wow, I forgot what the Triad uniforms looked like! Nice abs, Starbuck and Apollo. ;-)

Oh yes, the Triad uniforms hg Very nice! Loved the ep 'Murder on the Rising Star' - poor old Starbuck gets real sweaty and beaten up and Appolo has to save him. Sighhhh....
The new series is very dark and very serious. No laughter like in the old series, and no best buddies either. Appolo doesn't have a wingman. Sort of sad - not to mention that Boomer's a girl and a cylon.
Give me the old crew any day.
